About Carnarvon Gorge

Hidden in the Central Highlands of Queensland, some 730kms northwest of Brisbane, Carnarvon Gorge is an oasis in the middle of a semi-arid landscape. It features vibrantly coloured side-gorges, Aboriginal Art, and massive white sandstone cliffs. Remnant rainforest flourishes in the side-gorges, while ancient cycads, a variety of ferns, eucalyptus trees, flowering shrubs and the endemic Carnarvon Fan Palms line the main gorge.

Carnarvon Gorge also features an amazing array of flora and fauna, including 173 different bird species!

Aboriginal rock art hangs over the sandstone walls. Freehand paintings, ochre stencils and rock engravings are easily seen from the platform and are some of the best examples of Aboriginal Rock Art in Australia.

Photography Tuition -  Michael Snedic will be giving plenty of professional photography tuition throughout the workshop, enabling you to capture the best images of the incredible landscapes, fauna and flora that Carnarvon Gorge has to offer
